The second season of the Indian reality television series Bigg Boss Malayalam commenced on 5 January 2020 on Asianet. Mohanlal returned as the host. The season comes with the tagline Ini valiya kalikalumalla, kalikal vere level (English: it’s no longer just big games, now the games will go on its next level). The show follows a total of 17 contestants, who are isolated from the outside world for 100 days in a custom built house. Each week, one or more of the housemates were evicted by a public vote.

Unlike the first season, the luxurious house is shifted from Mumbai to the outskirts of the Chennai city in the EVP Film City at Chembarambakkam. The winner of this season will take home a cash prize of ₹10 million (₹1 crore INR) along with a trophy.
